Are your drawers filled with frayed copies of handwritten pedigrees of cats that have long since passed over to the Rainbow Bridge?
Do you lose sleep at night because you can't find the sire of a cat born five decades ago? Do you know your cat's family tree better than your own?
Then you, my friend, are a LINECHASER! And you've just found hundreds of cat fanciers that share your passion for feline history.

Our first community, Persian Linechasers, the Internet mailing list for folks interested in researching Persian, Himalayan and Exotic Shorthair
pedigrees, began in June of 1996 on the Compuserve service and then moved to Yahoogroups in 2001. It was inspired by the European "Linechasers",
whose magazine has been a valuable resource for pedigree researchers since 1990. The term "Linechaser" was popularized by these two groups
and now there are dozens of "linechasing" mailing lists on the Internet, researching the pedigrees of almost every breed.
The history of the cat fancy is preserved in books, magazines, and pieces of paper that are easily lost to the next generation of cat fanciers.
Our members are dedicated to preserving that history. Do you have old pedigrees, studbooks, magazines, or show catalogs lying around the house that you
would like to donate to this cause? If so, we can help put you in touch with dedicated linechasers who can help turn that dusty paper into electronic
files that are accessible to other cat fanciers interested in the history of pedigreed cats.
These files will be managed in an interactive manner. If you wish to contribute a scanned historical article, picture, or other document, it may be uploaded to
the appropriate area in the files section of the Linechasers Yahoogroup. If you have a file,
database, or mailing group that is already on the Internet, you are invited to link that information to the
appropriate Bookmarks folder of our Yahoogroup. The Bookmarks include links to
on-line searchable databases for many breeds to assist you in your research.
Check out our collection of breed history articles as well.
Looking for a pedigree program to manage your data? Try before you buy! We have compiled
a list of Pedigree Program web sites for your convenience. Interested in turning your database into an on-line searchable resource?
Contact our list administrator for details.
Browse through our resources and please feel free to share ideas on how you would like this site to develop. Please check back regularly, as this site's resources will be growing rapidly, as our members add more files from their personal collections.
