Persian, Himalayan,

        and Exotic Pedigree Research

For a list of breed histories, searchable databases for breeds other than Persians, a list of pedigree programs, and other linechasing resources, please visit: All Breed Linechasers. Check out the extensive Links section!

Persian Linechasers, the Internet mailing list for folks interested in exchanging Persian, Himalayan and Exotic Shorthair pedigrees, began in June of 1996. The list administrator is Lorraine Shelton of Featherland Cattery. Have old pedigrees, studbooks, magazines, or show catalogs lying around the house that you would like to donate to the cause? Let Lorraine know and one of our members would be happy to take them off of your hands! Those who share our addiction to finding "just one more generation" on their cats are welcome to join our group. To subscribe to our group, click on the Join button:

It is suggested that you observe for a bit at first in order to see what is our preferred format for posting pedigrees, but please jump right in and introduce yourself. We'd like to know what lines you are working with in your breeding program, what pedigree management software you are using, and what resources you have access to for "linechasing" (studbooks, yearbooks, other breeders' pedigree files, etc.)

Lurking is NOT acceptable on this list! We each do our share of tedious typing in order to benefit others. Follow the Golden Rule... the more pedigrees that YOU post, the more likely other members will help you find YOUR deadends!

Scanned pedigrees from the Studbook Fanciers Association are now archived on this web site! Also archived are past newsletters from the SBFA: March 1966, July 1966, May 1967, March 1968 February 1969, Volume 9, Volume 10, and Summer 1974 (Vol. 11). These are in PDF format

In the spirit of Linechasing, below are databases that some of our members have chosen to share to get you started on your journey.

If anyone else would like to make any Persian, Himalayan, or Exotic database files available to others, please let me know and we can post it here. Pedigrees are to be SHARED!!!
